Joslyn and Mario hosted an amazing, intimate wedding at the Vue Rooftop in Iowa City, celebrating seven years together with the beautiful family they’ve created. Grateful we got to be there to document the party and hit the dance floor for a song or two 🤙
Joslyn + Mario’s Intimate Vue Rooftop Wedding
A last-minute summer celebration
Would you believe us if we told you that this wedding was planned in just a few weeks?! Soirée Wedding Planning did an incredible job of helping these two bring their vision to life in such a short time frame, finding the perfect venue, flowers, food, cake, and all.

The couple shared their first look on the stairs outside of the Voxman Music Building recital hall, underneath a rad art installation hanging from the ceiling. Joslyn wore a gorgeous strapless gown and lace veil, while Mario looked killer in a burgundy suit (plus a cowboy hat every so often).
And if you look closely at Joslyn’s bouquet, you’ll see that she attached a small framed photo of a loved one to the delicate chain wrapped around the stems, along with a golden cross. These little details looked stunning against the vibrant red, pink, and white flowers she carried around with her throughout the day. Who says you can’t enjoy rich burgundy + red autumn tones in the summertime?

A scenic evening above downtown Iowa City
After their first look and a few portraits with the fam, we walked over to the Hilton Garden Inn for Joslyn and Mario’s rooftop ceremony, held at the Vue Rooftop venue. The sun was shining down on these two as they exchanged their vows, setting slowly over the city, as loved ones stood around to watch—and cheer them on as they went in for their first kiss as husband and wife.
This group was ready to partyyy as soon as things were made official, and why wouldn’t they be with such a delicious meal + dessert taunting them from the tables?! Charcuterie boards, cocktails, and cake were devoured as guests gave toasts, and Joslyn + Mario shared their first dances, both with each other and their parents. We had the most gorgeous golden hour light glowing over the city while everyone enjoyed their meal and clinked their glasses to the new Mr. and Mrs., with plentyyy of laughs and tears all around the table.
The party isn’t over for the newlyweds yet, though—Joslyn and Mario are planning a bigger celebration back home in Mexico a few years down the road. We can’t wait to see how this party turns out with all the people they love most 🤩
