Chill Adventure Elopement in the Mountains of Colorado
From early morning cinnamon rolls at sunrise to sunset paddleboarding time on the lake, Paige and Dan’s Colorado mountain elopement had every element of a perfect day: good people, good food, a good pup, and hella good adventures. Everything about it was uber chill, spontaneous, and totally go-with-the-flow—aka our total dream couple and dream elopement to document! We’re the luckiest ever to do what we do 🙌

A laid-back day exploring Telluride, CO
Paige and Dan’s whole relationship has been a bit spontaneous since the beginning, so it only felt right to keep it going with their elopement day—and spontaneous it was indeed. They were fine keeping their ceremony short and sweet, as long as they got to dedicate time to their bigger priorities: lots of mountain views, quality time with each other (and their fur baby, Roxy), and opportunities for unprompted, authentic photos that didn’t feel posed. So we said hell yeah and headed into the mountains of Telluride together, ready for an epic day filled with candid moments, gorgeous scenery, and the raddest couple (who drove all the way from Oregon, btw)!
An early morning sunrise ceremony with a treat
When you’ve gotta get up before dawn for a sunrise ceremony, you might as well pair it with a delicious breakfast, right? Paige and Dan made the most of their bright & early wakeup call with a little baking sesh in the kitchen of their Airbnb, making yummy cinnamon rolls to bring along for the ride. As the sky started to lighten up, we made our way toward Trout Lake for their off-roading ceremony spot, and WOW did we get a totally gorgeous morning! Soft, dappled sunlight streaming through the trees, lush greens all around us, and the peace and quiet of those early hours where no other visitors were around quite yet—a total dream come true for these two. Roxy joined them in celebrating their ceremony with a cinnamon roll breakfast, and even made her mark (literally) on their marriage license once things were official 🥲
(P.S. Did you know that you don’t need an officiant OR a witness to get legally married in Colorado? You could just do what Paige and Dan did, and have your pup sign off on the decorative copy of your marriage certificate 😄)
An afternoon full of adventures, hikes, and tacos
Three of our favorite things 😉 By this time the sun was fully out and shining down on the gorgeous alpine landscapes of Colorado, and we were off to Cornet Creek Falls for a celebratory hike + portrait session. The best part of the afternoon, though, was definitely when we went into Telluride afterward to explore + grab midday tacos—most of us on foot and one of us. . . on wheels?! Paige rocked her Blundstones while Dan tied up his rollerblades and sailed down the streets of this charming little mountain town like a total badass. Obsessed with these rom-com-esque shots we got of the two in the middle of the street, with the dramatic mountains in the backdrop! 🤩
Dreamy lakeside cake cutting + sunset paddleboarding
After dropping Roxy back off at the Airbnb for naptime, we took the scenic gondola up to San Sophia overlook and WOW was it totally, incredibly breathtaking. Even after riding this gondola multiple times, we never get tired of the picturesque views from up top—especially when it means we get to hang in close quarters with such a cool couple.
On our way out of town we picked up a box of pizza to take back to Trout Lake, where we celebrated with champagne, cake, and sparkling juice. Paige and Dan got out their rooftop tent for a few cool shots on their car, and wrote a brief version of their itinerary on postcards of the Mountain Village gondola. Such an awesome tradition they have with a ton of other epic postcards!
And finally, we wrapped up the evening with a sunset paddleboarding adventure (which they bravely did in their elopement attire). What a killer day with Paige and Dan that we were just grateful to be a part of 😎
