We literally still have no words for this wedding, and it’s been months at this point. We can’t even believe how incredible this Cabo destination wedding was!!😭🇲🇽 Not only did we get to document Emily & Adam’s stunning Cabo wedding day at the all-inclusive Sandos Finisterra Resort – we also got to tag along to the pre-wedding party they threw, adventure around Cabo, and even hang at the pool with the wedding party. What a freaking BLAST and an honor it was to capture this epic celebration!
Emily & Adam’s Epic Cabo Destination Wedding
Before the big day, we met Emily & Adam in our hometown of North Liberty, Iowa – we actually live just a few minutes away from each other. We even got to help plan with Emily over drinks for several weekends, and we were all so excited because it was going to be our first international wedding, and her & Adam’s first time in Cabo!
The most epic multi-day celebration exploring Cabo
Why celebrate for just one day when you could celebrate for multiple?! Destination weddings are literally the perfect excuse to stretch your wedding out over an entire weekend (or even a week!): because you’ll be spending all the time and money traveling to your destination, you’ve gotta make your time worth it, right? Especially if you have friends & family flying to your wedding, you absolutely have to take the opportunity and spend a few days exploring the area, enjoying the local culture, and taking in all the excitement.
Once we arrived in Cabo, we spent a few days celebrating, too – we got to enjoy the pool with the wedding party, shoot boudoir sessions on the beach, eat authentic food from local restaurants, and even go deep sea fishing. It was by far one of the most memorable trips ever, and the wedding hadn’t even started yet!!
A pre-wedding White Party on the beaches of Mexico
And we’re still not to the wedding yet – first we’ve got to admire the White Party that Emily & Adam hosted on the beaches of Cabo before the big day! This was such a fun event to capture, and they really went all out on the decor: twinkle lights strung between the buildings, tons of tables on the sand for their guests, and delish food. 10/10 recommend having a pre-wedding party to welcome your guests and spend quality time with everybody before the official stuff begins!
A record-breaking bridal party & a meaningful guest list
Nowww let’s start talking about the actual wedding day. Emily and Adam had a freakin’ record-breaking bridal party size with 10 people on each side – it was seriously one of the most fun wedding parties ever.
80-100 people flew from the U.S. to Cabo to celebrate, which was so much fun to watch. We love small, private elopements, but there’s something so special about seeing a couple gather with ALL their favorite people and take advantage of the unique time together!
Their favorite people were involved throughout the whole day, with their ceremony being officiated by Adam’s brother, his other brother serving as his best man, and Emily’s younger sister serving as her maid of honor. It was no doubt a special, meaningful family affair!
An incredible wedding day at Sandos Finisterra Resort
The wedding day was RECORD hot; we were all literally drenched in sweat but everybody totally made the best of it and enjoyed the gorgeous oceanside setting, the warm sand between their toes, and the rad couple they were celebrating. Emily and Adam chose the stunning Sandos Finisterra Resort as their venue, and it was sooo magical – but more about that a little later!
This day was full of not only fun, but also sweet, sentimental details and moments, such as Emily and Adam’s gifts for each other. Emily had us make a slideshow of photos and videos from the time they’ve been together, and Adam put together a book of letters he’d secretly been writing for Emily throughout their relationship. Cue the tears! Aaand we had to keep those tissues out because they chose “Precious Love” as their wedding song, which was played in Schitt’s Creek and absolutely made us tear up yet again.
After the rental time ran out for their reception space, we all moved to the bar in the resort to finish partying – and take it from us, this was the most fitting way to end the day 🔥💃
