What Is An All-Inclusive Elopement or Wedding?
It’s hard to define “all-inclusive,” because every venue and vendor uses it a bit differently—but in our eyes, an all-inclusive venue includes at least your ceremony, reception, accommodations, food & beverages, and rehearsal dinner (if you’re having one). We love it when venues also include services and amenities such as on-site coordinators, officiant, entertainment, florals, decor, cake, DJ, audio/visual equipment, and honeymoon celebrations. All-inclusive venues are common among venues that see a lot of couples planning destination celebrations, such as luxury resorts and popular tourist hotels!
An all-inclusive elopement differs from an all-inclusive wedding, too: all-inclusive elopement packages may not include a reception or rehearsal dinner, but they should include everything you could possibly need for your ceremony.
Why book an all-inclusive elopement venue?
The whole purpose of booking an all-inclusive venue for your elopement or wedding is to make YOUR life as easy as possible when it comes to planning and day-of coordination! Especially if you’re planning a destination celebration away from where you live, it can be tough to handle the logistics from afar—so having a local team on-site to ensure everything is ready to go is a GODSEND.

The only real downside to all-inclusive packages is that sometimes, they don’t offer as many options for customization as traditional packages do—the tradeoff is that you’re handing a majority of the planning process off to someone else, which does mean that you’re in charge of less. And that’s a great thing, but we totally understand if you don’t like that feeling of not totally being in control! You do also have to book your package further in advance at an all-inclusive venue than you would for, say, a chill national park elopement, so that’s something to keep in mind, as dates at these types of venues often book up quickly.

A majority of the luxury hotel & resort wedding venues you’ll find outside of the US are in tropical countries & islands such as Mexico, the Dominican Republic, St. Lucia, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Aruba, and the Bahamas. Of course, you can also find all-inclusive venues in other parts of the world, but the price of a destination wedding will typically go up a fair amount when you go outside of North and Central America.
You’ll notice that these resorts tend to include more amenities and services than most of the venues we included in the US—they’re more like the Hawaiian resorts we mentioned in terms of what “all-inclusive” means. Because many people who get married at these venues are coming from abroad, they pretty much have their all-inclusive destination packages on lock & know exactly what their couples need.
